1.01 - The Routine
Ortolani: You come to Em City, you're dead.
Ryan: I guess that means I can't use you as a reference, huh?
1.03 - God's Chillin
Ryan: So this dude, he's fiending for a cigarette. I mean, he's about to smoke the stuffing in his mattress he's dying so bad, so he comes to me and he asks me for a cig, just one to get him through the night. He begs me on his knees, he's weeping like a little girl. "Please? Please?" So pathetic. I said no.
Mukada: You said no.
Ryan: Well, actually, I lied. I told him I was out, I didn't have any. I don't think he believed me.
Mukada: And you said no because...
Ryan: For his own good. He's gotta kick the habit.
Mukada: So you were being altruistic?
Mukada: So you weren't actually committing a sin.
Ryan: No, Father.
Mukada: Then why did you come to confession?
Ryan: The truth?
Ryan: I figured when I was done I could sneak a smoke.
1.04 - Capital P
Ryan: I never lose when it counts.
1.06 - To Your Health
Ryan: You wanna go with me?
Sister Pete: Me?
Ryan: Yeah, you and me, you know.
Sister Pete: I'm twice your age and I'm a nun.
Ryan: Yeah, well, growing up and going to St. Pat's, I never had a nun like you.
Sister Pete: St. Pat's, huh? Tough neighborhood.
Ryan: Yeah, I learned the alphabet the hard way. DEA, HIV, IOU.
Sister Pete: I see.
Ryan: You know, Sister, I got 12 years to my parole. I wanna be alive to make that parole. I'm gonna walk out of here. I'm gonna survive.
1.08 - A Game of Checkers
Ryan: Adebisi says they're on our side, but I don't think we should fight the Muslims if we can avoid it.
Ross: You going soft on my, O'Reily?
Ryan: No, I'm just trying to stay alive.
